About the Author

David Ferland lives in Western Massachusetts with his wife and two boys.  Writing and reading were early passions and remain so to this day.  On long family car trips, he would ravenously read and irritate his parents.  “Are you with us,” they asked.

Yes and no.  Not really.

(Kids these days.  Don’t they know that life is given and shaped by books and stories?)

David went to college in Connecticut to study journalism and literature.  Seven years later he emerged from a different college in Colorado with an English degree.  College was very instructive, both in and out of the classroom.  Academic performance was…erratic.

Out West, the Rocky Mountains and the canyons of Utah had an awesome impact on his view of the world.  (People are small and fleeting.  Have fun, stay close to Nature, and try to listen to others.  Embrace the darkness, embrace the light.)

This blog?  Simple.  The author is more focused (and less so).  The kids are older and there’s more time to write.  Thank you for reading.  Enjoy and feedback.

  1. Rusty! Just came upon this….I’m smiling and proud to know ya. Way to go for “it”. Getting someone to laugh, tear up and think because of the way you write…that’s a gift. Best of everything to you and Love of Life.

  2. I finally found time to sit still for a few and read your blog. Excellent work and keep it up! Oh, and thank you for going to the Rockies during that time so ‘The love of your life ‘ could become one of my dearest friends!

  3. Wow Dave, your writing is amazing and inspiring. The man I know seems quite and modest. I am thrilled to have found this and will continue to read.
